PALE FIRE [Alfin to Zembla]-Alfin

 

“Alfin”-King of Zembla, father of Kinbote/Charles Xavier, he was also known as Alfin “the Vague” (see the side of the powerboat). He was an admirer of machines like fast boats, cars and planes. The plane he crashed and died in was called the Blenda IV, after his Queen, and mother of Kinbote. He was 45 when he died (car number). He was also interested in shells near the end of his life. The first Greek letter “alpha” is also present on the tail of the Blenda IV.
