“Botkin/Blenda”-Shown is Kinbote’s mother, Queen Blenda, "a tall, stout horsewoman". She is holding the Botkin fly, a symbol for Kinbote’s creator V. Botkin, (like the Virgin Mary is portrayed holding Jesus). Blenda is modeled off pictures of the last Tsarina of Russia, Alexandra Fedorovna.
